You can get the dial-in instructions when you log into GoToMeeting or, preferably, use a headset which allows you to hear the presentation.  You will be muted during the presentation so you can use the speakers on your computer but ... October 23- Peter Martin, Vice President Strategic Ventures, Invensys to reprise his session from the Industry Forum "The Need to Provide Value Based Solutions."  Automation technology has effectively been deployed to control plant efficiency for decades.  As the business variables of industrial companies have transitioned from highly stable over extended time periods to almost real-time variability, controlling plant efficiency is not enough. Automation technology must now be deployed to control the profitability of industrial businesses.  This requires a huge expansion in focus for operators, maintenance personnel and automation and control specialists to become effective business managers.  The challenge is daunting, but those who successfully expand their knowledge and skill sets in this direction will become the most valuable contribotors to the success of the business for their industrial organizations.  This session outlines the current industry driving forces and needs as described by a variety of executives from across the industry and offers a framework and approach to successfully meeting the challenge—all presented with wit and insight by a stalwart of the process control industry.
