Automation technology must now be deployed to control the profitability of industrial businesses. This requires a huge expansion in focus for operators, maintenance personnel and automation and control specialists to become effective business managers. The challenge is daunting, but those who successfully expand their knowledge and skill sets in this direction will become the most valuable contribotors to the success of the business for their industrial organizations. This session outlines the current industry driving forces and needs as described by a variety of executives from across the industry and offers a framework and approach to successfully meeting the challenge—all presented with wit and insight by a stalwart of the process control industry.
