Cynthia A. Esher, President

Cynthia Esher
has been associated with MCAA or its predecessor organization the
Scientific Apparatus Makers Association since 1978. She joined SAMA
as Administrative Assistant and held increasingly responsible
positions including Director of Administration and Vice President.
She was named Executive Director of the Process Measurement &
Control Section of SAMA in 1988. In 1990 she was named President of
SAMA while she maintained her responsibilities as Executive Director
of the PMC Section. After a name change to Measurement, Control &
Automation, the section disassociated from SAMA in 1994 and named
Mrs. Esher President.
Cynthia holds
a BA in English from Duke University and a Masters (equivalent) in
Association Management from the University of Maryland. She has
been married since 1969 to John, a history teacher. They have one
daughter and two granddaughters. Cynthia is an avid bogey golfer
and serves as Treasurer of the Women’s Golf Association for Two
Rivers Country Club and as a Director for the Governor’s Land
Foundation, her community homeowners’ association in Williamsburg,
VA.
When not
golfing or boating on the James and Chickahominy Rivers, you can
usually find Cynthia reading or playing with their two dogs, three
cats and even the seven fish in the koi pond.
