Mark Johnson, Director-at-Large 

Mark Johnson is President of George Instruments Company and Dave Ray & Associates.  The company was founded in 2946 and is both an industrial distributor (GEO) and a manufacturer's representative (DRA).  The companies carry several premier lines in the instrumentation and control market including four current MCAA member companies.

Mark holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan.  He worked as a co-op student with General Motors during college and then relocated to Syracuse NY to work from General Electric's Military Electronics Division.  While at GE, he was involved in the Edison Engineering program which allowed him to transfer within the company to get a broad range of experience in the field of military radar and sonar.  He also attended the three-year GE/Syracuse University Advanced Engineering program and received a Masters in Electrical Engineering as a result.

After a stint with the EDS Plant Engineering Group, Mark joined George Instrument in 1988 as an engineer and then in outside sales.  In 2001 he was promoted to Vice President of Sales and in 2005 was named President of the company.  In the past five years, Mark has doubled the size of the company.  In 2009, the company expanded into Indiana by purchasing part of an established firm and continues to grow in Michigan, Northwest Ohio and Indiana.

Mark lives in southeast Michigan with his wife and two college-age children.  He is active in his church and serves on its Board.  He enjoys hunting and boating, especially on the Great Lakes.   He was elected to the MCAA Board in May, 2009.
